Steering Committee Meeting #12

In partnership with the partners-Implementer the CAPNI, Rwanga Foundation for Development, with the presence of Truvalu company for technical support, LWF organization held a steering committee meeting No. 12 to announce and launch the QUEST project for supporting and development the SMEs in the governorates of Dohuk and Nineveh. This meeting focused on announcing the start of the activities adopted by QUEST project, including financial support in the form of loans, commercial development and entrepreneurship for small and medium-sized companies, and focusing on creating job opportunities in the region and social cohesion (Shared Future) of the targeted communities, including Syrian Refugees, displaced persons, host communities, and returnees.

LWF Agreement with Rwanga Foundation for Development and CAPNI.

Duhok, Kurdistan Region of Iraq – December-first week – Lutheran World Federation Iraq service have signed a consortium with Rwanga Foundation for Development and CAPNI to carry on the 2nd phase of Business Recovery Services and Funds in the region. The contracted partners will be directly responsible in delivering the planned activities in QUEST project, through Loan monitoring, Vocational training, social cohesion interventions based on Shared future curriculum, additionally, the seed funding of Kerk in Actie (KiA) and technical support of Truvalu Group Ltd. The program aims to support at least 15-25 businesses within different sectors in Duhok province and partially in Ninawa.

7 New Entrepreneurs join REVIVE

In later part of November, LWF Iraq and partners announced the second call for applicants to join BRS&F program for the year 2021 which resulted 22 enterprises to apply for the services of program. 14 enterprises were initially shortlisted after evaluating applications against requirement and criteria of which 7 of them were given provisional acceptance. The second batch of BRS&F is an extension to the first batch which consisted of 3 enterprises.
